Nurse Stabbed 25 Times After Trying to Leave: Wendy's Story
She tried to leave him six times. The last time, he st*bbed her more than 25 times and left her in a coma

Wendy walked into her partner's family home to end a relationship she had already tried to leave five times before. She was 21 years old, a nurse, and she had made her decision. Pedro Jared — also a nurse, also 23 years old — had other plans. He stabbed her more than 25 times before she lost consciousness.
Wendy did not die. But she did not walk out of that house the same person either. By the time she reached a hospital, she had been admitted as an unknown person — dropped off in critical condition by two of Pedro Jared's own family members, who had watched the attack happen and done nothing to stop it.
Two Years of Violence Before the Breaking Point
Wendy and Pedro Jared had been together for more than two years. In her own words, the relationship involved violence of various types throughout. The moment that escalated things to an extreme was the day she told him she was being transferred to a new IMSS clinic. His reaction was immediate. "That's when the screaming, hitting, and extreme violence began," she later said.
She tried to leave him five separate times before that day at his family's home. Each attempt failed. The sixth time, she went to speak with him directly — to tell him the relationship was over. She was stabbed more than 25 times in front of his family members, who stood by and did not intervene.
What the Attack Left Behind
Wendy survived, but the physical damage is permanent. She lost mobility in her right arm. Her vocal cords were injured. Multiple organs sustained damage. She spent time in a temporary coma state before she was stable enough to speak.
When she did speak, it was to warn anyone who would listen. "I feel that if he gets out, he will come to finish what he started," she said publicly. That fear was not unfounded. While Pedro Jared was still a fugitive, members of his family contacted Wendy with threats — warning her to withdraw her complaint, and threatening to release intimate content if she refused.
His Family Watched — Then Became Part of the Case
This is the detail that changes the shape of the entire story. Pedro Jared's family members were present during the attack. They did not stop it. After it was over, two of them transported Wendy — bleeding, unconscious, and barely alive — to Hospital Las Américas, where she was admitted under no name, as if she were a stranger with no story and no one looking for her.
That decision did not go unaddressed. On April 26, 2026, four members of Pedro Jared's family were arrested for their probable participation in the events: Gerardo, age 49; Samanta, age 29; Isabel, age 46; and Ulises, age 17. All four were taken into custody as investigators built the full picture of what happened inside that house.
Pedro Jared himself was located and arrested inside an Alcoholics Anonymous facility in Atlacomulco, where he had been sheltering to avoid capture. On May 1, 2026, a judge in the State of Mexico formally linked him to trial for the alleged crime of attempted feminicide.
Wendy continues to recover — physically, psychologically, and emotionally — from what was done to her the sixth time she tried to leave.
