Teen Pulls Trigger Three Times at 14-Year-Old's Head on School Bus, Gun Jams

Fifteen-year-old Kaeden Holland held a gun to a 14-year-old's head on a Prince George's County school bus and pulled the trigger three times point-blank.

The gun jammed each time.

On May 1, 2023, Holland boarded the bus in Oxon Hill, Maryland with two other teens and began attacking the 14-year-old victim.

When the gun failed to fire the first time, Holland racked the weapon and pistol-whipped the victim.

The Gun Left Its Mark

The barrel left an indentation on the right side of the victim's temple.

Police found three live 9mm cartridges on the bus floor.

Bus driver Natalie Brower watched it happen. "When I saw the handle of that gun, the only thing I could do was call on the name of Jesus. And when I called on the name of Jesus, that gun jammed, and I saw those live rounds come out of the clip."

The Attack Was Planned

A 14-year-old girl had orchestrated the entire thing.

The eighth-grader texted the boys moments before the attack to let them know the victim was on the bus.

Holland managed to evade arrest for weeks before U.S. Marshals captured him on May 30, 2023.

The Aftermath

The victim's mother moved her son across the country to keep him safe.

He still suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder.

Holland pleaded guilty to attempted murder and was sentenced to 60 years with all but 25 years suspended in August 2024.
